In total you can score 300 points. They split into a written and an oral part, and you have to reach roughly 60 percent in each:
- Written part: 225 points, of which you need about 135 to pass.
- Oral part: 75 points, of which you need about 45.
The important thing is that both parts are scored separately. So it is not enough to have enough points overall, you have to pass each part on its own. Where points are most often lost
Experience shows that many candidates lose points in writing and in the language elements (Sprachbausteine), less often in reading or listening. That is exactly where targeted practice pays off. The bottom line
To pass, you need around 60 percent of the points in each part. Once you know where the points sit, you can invest your time where it brings the most.
