The exam has two parts. The written part usually takes place in the morning, the oral exam often on the same day or on a separate date. The written part is structured like this:
- Reading comprehension and language elements.
- Listening comprehension. Note: parts 1 and 3 are played only once, more on this in telc B2 listening.
- Writing, a formal email of at least 150 words.

The oral exam
You usually take the oral exam in a pair. It starts with a short warm-up conversation that is not scored. After that you give a short presentation and hold a discussion in which you defend your position. Beforehand you get time to prepare.
